A British joualist working in the US has provoked outrage after he said live on air that Sarah Palin is a ‘world class idiot’ while also suggesting she deserves being defecated in the mouth.

Mr Bashir, who is well known for his interviews with Princess Diana and Michael Jackson, told viewers of MSNBC about a statement made by ‘America’s resident dunce’.

Political commentator Mr Bashir went on a two-and-a-half minute diatribe against the Republican politician after she had made a comparison between national debt and slavery.

‘Sarah Palin [was] scraping the barrel of her long-deceased mind and using her all-time favourite analogy in an attempt to sound intelligent about the national debt,’ he began before jumping to a clip of the speech.

Mr Bashir then went on to describe harrowing first-hand accounts dating back to the slave trade era.

One of these stories, conceing a master called Thomas Thistlewood punishing a slave by the use of defecation in the mouth, Mr Bashir used in a swipe against Ms Palin.

‘She confirms that if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, then she would be the outstanding candidate,’ he said.
