Marietta Teen James Glover to be Tried as Adult in beating of a 94-year-old man
MARIETTA, Ga. - Cobb County authorities say a teen accused of beating a 94-year-old man during a September robbery will be tried as an adult.
Cobb County District Attoey's spokeswoman Kathy Watkins says a juvenile court judge ruled this week that 15-year-old James Glover will go to Superior Court on charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, burglary and violation of the gang act.
Authorities say Glover entered Paul Smallwood's home, hit him repeatedly with a rock and took his wallet and cell phone. Smallwood suffered severe head injuries in the incident.
An 11-year-old has been charged as an accomplice in the incident, but he will not be tried as an adult.
Glover had previously not been named by authorities because he was charged as a juvenile.
