Phillip Smith: Man accused in death of Florida woman Janice Fulton to be extradited from Henry County
HENRY COUNTY, GA - A man has been arrested after the body of a woman who was reported missing from Florida was found in Henry County authorities said Friday.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the body of Janice Fulton, 74, of Jacksonville, was found Friday moing. Phillip Smith has been arrested in her murder. Friday, Henry County officials said Smith will face an extradition hearing to be sent back to Florida to face charges.
Investigators say Janice was reported missing this week and believed she was with 37-year-old Phillip Jason Smith in a 2009 blue Kia Optima. The vehicle was spotted in Locust Grove on Thursday night, around 10 p.m.
Police said Smith killed Fulton Jacksonville and brought her body to Henry County about four hours away. It is unclear exactly where the body was found.
It is also unknown what connection Smith has to the area or to Fulton.
