Police: Man shot wife in driveway during murder-suicide

A husband shot and killed his wife in Lithonia Saturday afteoon, according to DeKalb County police.

Officers responded to a shooting call at a home on Tunbridge Wells Road around 6 p.m. They found a woman inside her car. The sedan had rammed into the garage door.

Officers found her husband inside the home. He died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police said they believe when the wife pulled into the driveway, she was met by her husband. He shot her before going back into the home.

The couple had two children. Detectives would not confirm their ages or if they were at the location during the shooting. The names of the couple has not been released. Officers had been called to the address on prior incidents but would not elaborate further.

The shooting remains under investigation.
