Fire investigators are trying to determine what started a fire at a Sandy Springs apartment complex.

The fire destroyed two buildings at the apartment complex.

Now questions are being raised as to why a fire hydrant failed to work.

Heavy flames ripped through the Falls Apartments on Spring Creek Lane around 9:30 Monday night.

Firefighters say flames were shooting through the roof of a building when they arrived on scene.

Fire officials say they had a hard time getting inside the apartments to put out the flames.

Investigators say everyone managed to get out and that no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
