Holiday Travelers Hit Airports

ATLANTA - People are trying to get to their destinations in time for Christmas.

With potentially long lines and stricter security measures, travelers are asked to arrive at the airport early.

So far, enhanced security measures at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Inteational Airport haven't resulted in long delays for travelers.

Some travelers say the new security screening is worth it, even if it means a longer wait.

To make your holiday travels a little less stressful, Hartsfield-Jackson has a few tips:

  • Arrive 90 minutes before your flight leaves for domestic travel and two hours before an inteational flight.
  • Check security wait times and parking availability online at www.atlanta-airport.com
Remember the baggage rules: one bag, plus one carry-on per person.
  • Sign up for Track-a-Flight . You'll get updated flight information delivered to your email or cell phone.

The Transportation and Security Administration says security checkpoints at Hartsfield-Jackson will be fully staffed through the holiday period.
