Dekalb County police arrested a captain for the Henry County Sheriff's office after he was accused of planning to meet up with a teen for sex.

Capt. David McCart was taken into custody by Tuesday night after a two month investigation.

”I treat this guy like anybody else on the street. When you prey on our kids, we’re going to deal with you accordingly. We sent a simple message, no matter who you are, said DeKalb County police Sgt. Torrey Kennedy.

Kennedy talked to reporters about the investigation, but did not reveal the website where they believe the captain was surfing for investigative reasons.

”We were doing a cross-country operation with the FBI and during that time we came into contact with an individual later identified as Captain McCart with the Henry County Sheriff’s department.

Police did say the online conversation tued into texting before more was planned.

”Mr. McCart was on a social media website chatting with who he believed was an underage child. During that chat, they had a sexual, explicit conversation in which they agreed to meet for sex, Kennedy said.

McCart agreed to meet at a mall where he was instead met by police.

Investigators are going through McCart’s other electronics to see if there were any other victims
