Georgia Storm Damage Estimated At $32 Million

JONESBORO, Ga. -- State Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens told CBS Atlanta’s Michelle Marsh Tuesday afteoon that the estimated insured losses from Monday’s storms is $32 million.

Hudgens made the comments as he toured a damaged area in Jonesboro in Clayton County.

Hudgens said, ”This estimate includes damage to cars as well as homes and businesses. Based on what I saw today, I believe we have reached $32 million.

Hudgens reminds Georgians that they can call his Consumer Services Division at 404-656-2070 in metro Atlanta, and 1-800-656-2298 outside the Metro area, if they have questions about a claim or if they are having problems reaching their insurance company.

Authorities say at least 6 people died in Georgia as a result of the oveight storms.
