Georgia schools remain closed for 5th day

ATLANTA -- Many metro Atlanta school districts are canceling classes for the fifth day in a row, making it a full week of snow days.

Districts include Paulding, Cherokee, Gwinnett and DeKalb counties. Others include Atlanta and Marietta schools.

Others that will be closed outside the metro area include: Union, Rabun, Fannin, Dade, Bartow and Murray counties.

But a few districts affected by the historic snowstorm that hit the state Sunday night plan to hold classes, including McDuffie County, which will open at 10 a.m. Friday.

At least two districts - Fannin and Gilmer counties - are holding classes on Monday's Martin Luther King Jr. holiday to make up for the missed class time.
