Former Ga. Representative Ed Jenkins Dies
Former Georgia democratic representative Ed Jenkins has died.
Family members say Jenkins passed away Sunday at Piedmont Hospital following a long illness. He was 78-years old.
Jenkins represented Georgia for 16 years while serving on the House Budget and the Ways and Means committees.
The Almanac of American Politics described him in 1990 as "one of the smartest operators on Capitol Hill."
