Former DeKalb Co. Officer Kristina Hambie Released on Bond
Kristina Hambie was involved in the Feb. 19 accident that killed Cheryl Blount-Burton and Shelley Amos.

 

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A former Dekalb County police officer charged in a deadly accident is out on bond.

Kristina Hambie surrendered to authorities around 6 p.m. Sunday.

She was released about seven hours later on $50,000 bond.

The DeKalb County district attoey says Hambie was speeding when she crashed her squad car into another vehicle on Covington Highway in February.

Cheryl Blount Burton, 51, and Shelley Amos, 56, died in the crash. The two mothers were best friends.

Hambie was later fired from DeKalb County Police Department.
