Family Wants Answers in DeKalb Co. Hit and Run
The family of a DeKalb County man who was killed when he was hit by a car is asking for help from the public in tracking down the driver responsible for his death.
Police say Phillip Bratton, 37, was hit on a busy section of Flat Shoals Road on June 12. They say the driver of the car did not stop, and Bratton’s body was left on the side of the road.
On Monday, Bratton’s family lit a single candle in the spot where he was killed. Friends and family members who gathered at the scene are asking that someone step forward with information about his death.
Bratton’s mother, Linda, told FOX 5 the whole situation seems unreal.
”It’s been a nightmare, she said. ”It’s like it’s not real— like I’m dreaming. I wish I was dreaming, but it’s true.
Police have used debris from the accident to pinpoint the car they’re looking for. They believe Bratton was hit by a black Landrover Discovery 2, and they say the vehicle would have front end damage.
Bratton’s family believes someone saw something because they say there would have been lots of cars in the area at the time of the accident.
