Prosecutors outside Atlanta say a former Fulton County police officer will serve a 25-year prison sentence after he was found guilty of two counts of child molestation.

Erik Burton, a spokesman for the DeKalb County District Attoey's Office, said a jury on Thursday retued guilty verdicts on the two counts against 32-year-old Michael Beard Wilson.

Authorities say Wilson was arrested in November 2010 after he was accused of molesting and raping a 12-year-old girl. The girl's mother called DeKalb police, who arrested the Ellenwood resident during a traffic stop. He was then terminated from the Fulton County department.
