Ex-Georgia Tech football player Denzel McCoy arrested
Denzel McCoy

A former Georgia Tech football player is facing serious charges. Police arrested former Tech defensive lineman Denzel McCoy for felony credit card theft and misdemeanor theft by taking.

Officers say McCoy is suspected of stealing a woman's purse last week inside a bar in Buckhead.

McCoy was a highly touted recruit who received a football scholarship, but he never played for Tech because of a medical condition.

McCoy is still enrolled at Georgia Tech, but he is not a member of the football team or program.
