Dunwoody waitress Nicey Marie Joseph accused of stealing credit card numbers

Dunwoody police said they have arrested a woman who previously worked as a waitress at Dunwoody restaurants accused of stealing credit card numbers from customers.

Nicey Marie Joseph, 26, of Forest Park, was arrested and charged with three counts of financial transaction card fraud, two counts of elder exploitation and two counts of identity fraud, Officer Tim Fecht with Dunwoody police said. Investigators believe there could be additional victims.

Joseph had been employed since June at the restaurants, which police declined to name due to the ongoing investigation and to guarantee ”true crime victims, Fecht said.

”During her time at these restaurants, Joseph was documented using a mobile card reader connected to a ‘smart’ cellular phone in order to steal and fraudulently use victim’s credit card numbers when they paid for their meals, Fecht said in an emailed statement.

Joseph was being held Thursday afteoon at the DeKalb County jail on $12,000 cash-only bond, according to police.

Anyone who may have been a victim is asked to contact Detective Blake Yeargin at 678-382-6916. Investigators need restaurant receipts and proof of fraudulent activity on the credit card, such as additional charges.
