DeKalb Police Search for Missing Elderly Man James Sturgis
The DeKalb County Police Department is looking for a missing elderly man.
James Sturgis -- 67-years old -- was last seen around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 17 outside his personal care home.
Police say Sturgis suffers from dementia and early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. He is described as a black male, 5’5, 179 pounds, brown eyes with short grey hair.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a grey and red button down dress shirt, blue jeans and a blue cap, say police.
According to detectives, Sturgis was sitting on the front porch of his personal care home located at 2327 Young Road in Stone Mountain. His caretaker was tending to other residents and when the caretaker retued to the porch, Sturgis was missing.
A search of the immediate area was unsuccessful in locating Sturgis.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Sturgis to please call 911 or the DeKalb County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at (770) 724-7710.
