Congressional staffer Dianne Reidy goes on bizarre rant about Freemasons and God
MEMBERS of the US Congress were celebrating a debt ceiling vote when a staffer took the microphone and started a bizarre rant about Freemasons.
The stenographer, identified as Dianne Reidy formerly from Long Island, New York, stepped up to the dais and started to speak into the mic.
She proceeded to launch into a zany rant about Freemasons and the Constitution before being dragged off from the House floor by officers.
Politicians said she was yelling about the devil and the House being divided. Texas Democrat Joaquin Castro said she had a crazed look on her face.
"He will not be mocked," Ms Reidy said "The greatest deception here is this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been it would not have been. It would not have been."
"The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons. They go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God. Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to Jesus," she said before being dragged away.
She was interviewed by Capitol Police before being sent to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Records don’t indicate that Ms Reidy is affiliated with a political party. A person who picked up the phone at her home on Wednesday night refused to comment.
The outburst occurred while the House was voting on legislation ending the govement shutdown and extending the federal debt limit.
