Police: Man thrown from motorcycle, killed in Cobb County accident

KENNESAW, GA   - Police say a man died after being thrown from a motorcycle in an accident in Cobb County early Thursday moing.

A spokesperson with Cobb County police say 41-year-old David Lance, of Dallas, Georgia, was riding a motorcycle northbound on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw, behind a man driving a Ford Bronco.

As both drivers approached Blue Springs Road just after midnight, police say Lance hit the back of the Ford Bronco as it slowed down at a traffic light.

After being thrown from the motorcycle, police say Lance died shortly after he was taken to the hospital. 

The driver of the Ford, 27-year-old Brian Cole, was not injured in the accident and will not face charges, according to authorities.
