Cleaning lady Rosa Umana accused of stealing jewelry

Sandy Springs Police say they have arrested a woman accused of stealing more than $60,000 worth of jewelry from Atlanta homes.

According to police, Rosa Umana was working for Chris Angels Cleaning Company when she stole more than $35,000 worth of jewelry from a home on Starlight Circle.

Investigators tell reporters they found stolen jewelry in Umana's apartment. They're now working to see whether other items they found had also been stolen, including a class ring.

Police contacted the owner of the ring and the Sandy Springs resident told police after checking he noticed another ring was missing. The victim said he uses Salvador Cabrera's Cleaning Company where Umana had been employed at in the past.

Umana has been charged with felony theft by taking and a misdemeanor count of theft by taking. Her husband was also taken into police custody and has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
