Clayton Co. Sells Tara Field Airport to Henry Co
Tara Field

JONESBORO, Ga. - Clayton County commissioners have approved the sale of Tara Field, an airport next to Atlanta Motor Speedway, to neighboring Henry County.

The commission approved the deal at its meeting Tuesday night.

The Atlanta Joual-Constitution reports that Clayton County has owned Tara Field since the early 1990s.

Commission Chairman Eldrin Bell said he hopes proceeds from the airport sale will be used to lower property taxes for Clayton County residents.

The sales price was not publicly disclosed at Tuesday's meeting.
