Carroll County Woman Tina Camacaro Charged With Kidnapping 18-Month-Old

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. -- Police charged a woman with kidnapping an 18-month-old child who was reported missing from a home in Carroll County on Monday moing.

A couple told deputies the child disappeared about 3 a.m. when they went to get the child medicine, leaving the child in the care of a 17-year-old daughter.

Officers told Channel 2's Kerry Kavanugh that a neighbor discovered the child about a three-quarters of a mile from his home in the Fairfield Plantation subdivision in Villa Rica about five hours later. Officers said the child was cold and wet, but not injured.

Investigators told Kavanaugh 51-year-old Tina Camacaro broke into the home and stole the child while the couple was at the store.

Camacaro is the estranged wife of the child's mother's boyfriend, deputies told Kavanaugh.

Camacaro could also be charged with stalking, Kavanaugh reported.
