Jeremy Nelson

A 12-year-old boy collapsed during the Gwinnett Basketball League all-star basketball game at the Suwanee Sports Academy on Saturday night and later died.

Jeremy Nelson, a seventh-grader at Buford Middle School, had just come out of the game when he collapsed. He was rushed to Gwinnett Medical Center where he later died.

His father, Herb Nelson, said he always knew his son was a special kid and that his loss is humbling.
