Boy dies after falling into frozen Gordon County lake
GORDON COUNTY, Ga. -
A juvenile died after falling into a frozen lake on Thursday, Gordon County authorities said.
According to Sheriff Mitch Ralston, crews responded to a report of a person in a lake in a subdivision off of Orchard Way near Calhoun around 1:55 p.m.
Deputies had to use four-wheel drive vehicles to get to the area. Several deputies and firemen entered the icy water and pulled out the victim about 40 minutes after arriving.
The victim, whose name and age has not been released, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
