Bibb County deputies are trying to find out who shot a woman early Friday in south Macon.

An ambulance met 22-year-old Jamesia Clay on South Groveland Circle, but she said she was wounded while walking up the street about 5:20 a.m.

Clay said she was walking to a store several blocks from her home when four black males pulled up in a brown Buick and told her to get in the car, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

She refused, and was shot in the leg.

Deputies with flashlights searched the intersection of Greenleaf and Pinedale drives looking for a shell casing from the incident.

Nothing was found in the pre-dawn darkness.

Deputies did not receive an additional report of a gunshot in the residential neighborhood across from Village Green, near the end of Bloomfield Road.

Clay was treated and released from the Medical Center of Central Georgai.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
