ATLANTA - Atlanta police say a quarrel between a father and his 24-year-old son ended with the younger man being fatally shot.

Officers say the shooting occurred just before midnight Thursday at a northwest Atlanta apartment complex.

Police say the men were arguing over cash, and the dispute tued into a fist fight. They say the father then reached for a gun and shot his son in the chest.

Police say they found the 24-year-old dead in an upstairs bedroom.

Maj. Keith Meadows of the Atlanta Police Department says there had been an ongoing feud between the men, with the son as the primary aggressor.

Police say no charges have been filed.
