Atlanta Media Mogul Tyler Perry Helps Area Youth Center

ATLANTA - A media mogul has stepped in to help a local youth organization keep its doors open.

Tyler Perry matched an anonymous donation of $14,000 to the Be Someone Youth Center which teaches children the game of chess and important life lessons.

"I got a call from his office. I said 'this is the best day of my life you want to know why,' she said 'I know why I'm about to Fed Ex you a check from Tyler Perry,'" said director Orrin "Checkmate" Hudson.

Hudson said he was facing down a December 31st deadline to make critical improvements.
