An Athens man has been sentenced to life in prison in the death of a 76-year-old man.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports 18-year-old Anthony Jermaine Fuller said in court Thursday that he shot Edward Davidson during a November 2012 burglary.

Fuller pleaded guilty to malice murder and additional charges linked to several burglaries in the weeks before Davidson's death.

The victim's son, Troy Davidson, said his father was a hard worker who moved to Georgia from Jamaica in hopes of providing a better life for his family.

Fuller apologized to Davidson's family and told the court he wasn't looking for sympathy.

Two other men who were arrested in Davidson's death are expected to go to trial next week.
