The 400-pound eagle statue, made of bronze and other metals, was taken from the Big Creek Greenway trailhead off Bethelview Road. It is about about 6 feet tall, with an 8-foot wingspan.

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation staff discovered the eagle was missing Aug. 28. The sculpture had been taken sometime the night before or that moing.

Authorities recovered the statue in good condition last week after a tip from the public. It was found in a storage shed at Garcias residence, the sheriffs office said.
