Armed Masked Gunmen Hold Up McDonald’s Workers

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Armed masked men robbed a Marietta McDonald’s restaurant on Friday moing, Cobb County police said.

The robbers ambushed five workers as they opened up the fast food restaurant at 5 a.m., Cobb County police spokesman Dana Pierce said.

The employees were unlocking a side door when two men forced them inside to a back area and against a wall, Pierce said. They then stole personal items from the workers, Pierce said.

After the men ordered the store manager to open the safe, they got away with an undisclosed amount of money, Pierce said. He said they fled in one of the employee’s vehicles, but it was found shortly after, within a few miles of the store.

The store was temporarily closed while police investigated the area. Customers denied of their moing breakfast were taken aback.

”I’m a little surprised but you know, things happen all over the place, customer Bob Bessho told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge.
