An ammonia leak at a poultry plant in west Georgia has reportedly sent more than 20 employees to the hospital.

It happened Wednesday at the Tip Top Poultry plant near Rockmart. Authorities say 23 workers were taken to two different hospitals after they complained of breathing problems and irritation.

Authorities said the leak was contained on site, and no evacuations were necessary. Crews had been working on the system just before it happened.

Police say none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

The leak comes just a few days after an ammonia leak at a plant that freezes chickens near Mobile, Ala., sent dozens of people to the hospital.
