9-year-old girl fights off alleged molester Juan Aleman
A man accused of luring a 9-year-old girl and molesting her is behind bars.
Police said 25-year-old Juan Aleman molested the child last week in her own apartment at the Greens at Windy Hill.
Channel 2's Carl Willis spoke with Cobb County police, who said the suspect found out that the little girl liked to come outside and feed a stray cat at night.
Last Sunday, Aleman met the girl and enticed her around the coer.
"He said, 'I saw your cat,'" recalled the child's mother, whose identity is being withheld for her and her daughter's safety. "He said, 'Come get it,' so she went over there."
Once Aleman lured the girl to a dark coer, police said he fondled her.
"She knew under those circumstances to do whatever she needs to do, so she kicked him in the head and she ran in the house," the victim's mother said.
Police said Aleman has since been arrested and charged him with sexual battery, child molestation, cruelty to a child and enticing a child.
"These men, when they do this, they become the 'boogeyman'," the victim's mother said.
Meanwhile, other parents in the apartment complex voiced conces about the same suspect, who they said showed an interest in their young daughters. "He asked someone about my daughter, thought she was pretty and somebody told her she was too young," Annette Munaco said.
Meanwhile, the 9-year-old victim's mother said she is glad she prepared her daughter to handle these types of situations.
Even though her daughter is still scared, the girl feels proud that she helped identify the suspect and put him behind bars.
"She's feeling like 'I was able to get him arrested, he can't do this to anyone else, the child's mother said.
