8-Year-Old DeKalb County Shooting Victim Dies From Injuries

LITHONIA, Ga. -- Investigators have confirmed to GA Daily News, an 8-year-old DeKalb County boy who was shot Wednesday has died.

The shooting happened in the 3500 block of Salem Glen Road in Lithonia.

Detectives tell GA Daily News they are still trying to determine how exactly the shooting happened, but police said a 16-year-old has been arrested in connection to the child’s death.

Investigators said the boy’s mother was home at the time of the shooting, but was not in the room when it happened.

The shooter will have his first court appearance Thursday afteoon.

Detectives are still trying to figure out whom the gun belonged to.
