5-Month-Old Dead After Being Left In Hot Car

KENNESAW, Ga. -- A 5-month-old baby is dead after a family member left the child asleep in a hot car for 5 hours.

Police in Kennesaw said they were called out to Ivey Hall Day School just before 6 p.m. Wednesday when the child was found unresponsive in the car.

Investigators said emergency crews made several attempts to revive the baby girl, but she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The child had been left in the car for about 5 hours, according to police.

They said the family member forgot the baby was in the back of the car when they went into work around noon.

Police said they are not releasing the names of those involved in this case because of its sensitive nature.

So far no charges have been filed against anyone.
