GA Daily News has confirmed the identity of a woman Fairbu police says intentionally hit her boyfriend, who was somehow thrown from the car she was driving after an argument Sunday moing.

The woman has been identified as 30-year-old Sharees Dennard. She has been booked into Fulton County jail on a murder charge following her boyfriend's death, Fairbu police Sgt. Anthony Bazydlo said.

The information comes after an initial report of a fatal hit-and-run in south Fulton County that tued out to be a murder.

Investigators arrived at Highway 92, also known as Campbelton-Fairbu Road, at about 2 a.m. The incident happened where the street crosses Koweta Road, police said. An early investigation determined that a black man in his mid-30s was walking across Highway 92 when he was run over by a car and killed.

But developments in the case have since revealed that the man was run over by Dennard after a dispute at a nearby residence, police said.

According to a press release from the Fairbu Police Department, "the female then got into her car to leave the residence and the male victim then jumped onto (her) vehicle."

Dennard kept driving southbound on Highway 92 and at some point the man was either thrown or jumped from the vehicle, the release said. Police believe she then intentionally struck the man with the vehicle.

Dennard, along with the incident vehicle, were located at 140 Orchard Street in Fairbu, approximately a half mile from the crime scene, where Channel 2's Sophia Choi spent the day talking with police.

Investigators also believe at least two additional vehicles may have struck the man's body after he was already initially and intentionally struck by his girlfriend. Fairbu investigators are asking anyone who was driving in that area at about 2 a.m. who thought they may have struck something in the road to call 770-964-1441.
