3 Pedestrians Hit, 2 Dead near Interstate 675 in Stockbridge
Authorities say three people were hit along Highway 138 in Stockbridge on Thursday, August 25, 2011.

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - Authorities in Clayton County say three teens were hit by a car on on Highway 138 near Interstate 675 in Stockbridge on Thursday afteoon.

Police say three teens were walking alongside the roadway when a female driver veered into the emergency lane - and hit them.

Two of the teens were airlifted to Grady hospital - where one later died. Another teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

FOX 5's Doug Evans, who reported from the scene, says clothes, shoes and evidence markers were scattered on the highway under the overpass and in the grass.  Further away, there was a red car in the ditch.

Police say the three teens ranged in age from 17 to 19. They are hoping an eyewitness will come forward to tell them what happened.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
