2 Suspected In CVS Armed Robbery, Chase
ATLANTA -- Two people are accused in an armed robbery and police chase Thursday moing.
The incident began at a CVS pharmacy on Boulevard in southeast Atlanta, Atlanta police Capt. Van Hobbs told Channel 2’s Darryn Moore. He said two men robbed the pharmacy, but they didn’t get away with it.
When officers arrived, the two men were running out the door with guns in hand, Hobbs said. Police chased their car before the driver lost control and crashed into a utility pole near Glenwood Avenue, Hobbs said.
One of the men ran away, but police said they later caught him. The other man was trapped in the car. Firefighters were working to remove him.
The crash caused a power outage on Glenwood Road. Georgia Power crews were working to restore power. The road was shut down.
