15-Year-Old Held In Girlfriend Angel Freeman's Killing; Gun Found In Creek
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A 15-year-old boy is in custody following a fatal shooting in a wooded area behind 4111 Dunn Road in Ellenwood. The boy has been charged with murdering his girlfriend, Angel Freeman, at a fort in the woods.
Reports said that on Monday around 4 p.m. police found a 16-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Freeman died at the scene.
Late Tuesday night a cross and a small toy marked the spot where Freeman was violently killed.
Jorge Castaneda said he knew both Freeman and the suspect.
"We're like close friends. I've never seen him bring a gun to school or nothing.He wasn’t violent at all," Castaneda said.
Castaneda said he built the fort with the suspect about a month ago.
"It's where we go to chill," Castaneda said.
Police said the 15-year-old suspect showed officers where he threw the weapon into a nearby creek.
Police found the gun on Tuesday moing.
"They had an on and off relationship like boyfriend, girlfriend, but she wasn’t wanting that and he was wanting more, and he kind of flipped out," said neighbor Kelly Reese.
Police have not released the name of the suspect because he is a minor.
The district attoey will determine whether to charge him as an adult.
