138-Year Old Church in Henry County Destroyed By Fire
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - A 138-year old church in Henry County was destroyed by fire Sunday, say Henry County Fire Department officials.
Authorities say the fire at the Wolf Creek County Line Baptist Church on Old Jackson Road started shortly after 2:30 a.m. The fire was reported by a passerby.
The two-alarm fire kept crews busy for several hours before the fire was brought under control.
”Luckily there were no injuries, said Captain Sabrina Puckett.
The Henry County Fire Department, The State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are working together in conducting the investigation into the cause of the fire.
Fire officials say the church has a congregation of 50 to 60 members.
