$1.2M Of Cocaine Seized In I-20 Drug Bust
WARRENTON, Ga. -- Authorities are calling the seizure of 11 kilos of cocaine -- estimated to be worth $1.2 million -- the largest drug bust in Warren County's history.
Sheriff's officials said the drugs were found after a traffic stop on Interstate 20 late Wednesday.
Warren County Deputy Sammy Purvis said at least one person has been arrested and charged -- 28-year-old Cleveland Hall of College Park, Ga. Purvis said Hall is charged with trafficking in cocaine and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He was jailed in Thomson, and a bond hearing is set for Friday.
Authorities said he was stopped on I-20 for an equipment violation. The 2003 Audi was taken to a sheriff's office, where authorities said they discovered a hidden compartment between the back seat and trunk.
