Worker Jeffery Lee McGhee dies while helping to build new subdivision
A construction worker was killed Thursday in an accident at a home site in south Forsyth.

Authorities say a construction worker has died while helping to develop a new subdivision in Forsyth County north of Atlanta.

The county coroner's office identified the worker as 45-year-old Jeffery Lee McGhee of Cumming.

Forsyth County Fire Capt. Jason Shivers tells The Atlanta Joual-Constitution (http://bit.ly/zrmvwj ) that McGhee was operating machinery on a steep incline when he ran into a tree.

Authorities said the accident happened on Bramble Bush Way in the southeaste part of the county around 11:15 a.m. Thursday.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
