Woman’s Death Ruled Homicide After Body Found in Vehicle in College Park
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — A woman found dead inside a vehicle along Old National Highway early Tuesday has been identified, and her death has been ruled a homicide.
College Park Police said officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to a report of a woman inside a car with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Travelodge by Wyndham at 2471 Old National Highway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Marquia Taylor and confirmed her death was a homicide.
Family members said Taylor was born in Columbus, Ohio, where much of her family still lives, and had been residing in Fayetteville, Georgia.
“She was the type of person who never met a stranger,” her family said.
On Thursday, College Park Police announced detectives have identified a suspect and obtained warrants in the case. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name.
