Woman killed, husband injured during robbery-turned violent at the Woodcrest Village Apartments
LITHONIA, GA - A woman was shot and killed and her husband injured during a robbery at an apartment complex in DeKalb County, according to police.
The shooting occurred Friday night at the Woodcrest Village Apartments in Lithonia. Police say the woman and her husband went to the apartment complex to make a purchase when they were ambushed by a group of robbers and shot.
The couple tried to escape in a car and made it to the front of the complex, according to authorities.
The woman was alive when taken to the hospital, but later died.
Authorities say they're not sure what type of transaction was made during the incident.
