Woman Dead, Suspect Zanbria Arrington Arrested After Shooting at Stone Mountain Shopping Center
Zanbria Arrington

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — A 33-year-old woman was shot and killed Wednesday evening in the parking lot of the Memorial Bend Shopping Center in DeKalb County, authorities said.

The DeKalb County Police Department identified the victim as Precious Jones. Officers responded about 6 p.m. to the busy retail complex along Memorial Drive and found Jones with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police arrested Zanbria Arrington, 23, and booked her into the DeKalb County Jail on murder charges, according to investigators.

Officials believe the shooting stemmed from a verbal argument in the parking lot, but they have not disclosed what sparked the confrontation or whether the two knew each other, police said. The incident does not appear to be related to a domestic dispute.

Authorities reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation. Police have not said whether the firearm used in the shooting has been recovered.

No additional details were immediately available.
