Wife Of Dunwoody Shooting Suspect Hemy Neuman Files For Separation
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- The wife of the man accused of killing a Dunwoody entrepreneur has filed for separation, alleging adultery.
Court filings obtained by Channel 2's Mike Petchenik showed Ariela Neuman's attoey, Esther Panitch, plans to ask a judge to hold a hearing on the separation proceedings.
Panitch also plans to question Hemy Neuman, Ariela's estranged husband, and Andrea Sneiderman, the widow of the man Hemy Neuman is accused of killing. The complaint alleged infidelity and cruel treatment by Hemy Neuman.
Investigators said Hemy Neuman shot and killed Rusty Sneiderman last November, moments after he dropped his 2-year-old son at preschool.
Investigators said Neuman was Andrea Sneiderman's supervisor at GE Energy in Marietta. Last week, Andrea Sneiderman's attoey, Seth Kirschenbaum, confirmed to Channel 2's Mike Petchenik that Neuman and his client had taken several work-related trips, including one to Europe and another to Colorado. Kirschenbaum characterized those trips as strictly platonic.
DeKalb County investigators have obtained warrants to search through e-mail and phone records of Neuman and Sneiderman, whom they said had continuous communication prior to Rusty Sneiderman's killing and after it. So far, police have not implicated Andrea Sneiderman in her husband's killing.
Petchenik obtained e-mails that showed Rusty Sneiderman was trying to help Neuman find a new job and that the pair had lunch on at least one occasion to discuss future business ventures. A source also confirmed to Petchenik that Arelia Neuman helped Andrea Sneiderman obtain her job at General Electric by giving Hemy Neuman her resume over a year ago at the request of a mutual friend.
"Filing a suit for separate maintenance is the best way to protect my client and her children's interests at this time. The filing speaks for itself, and I will not comment any further at this time," Panitch said in a statement released Monday.
The complaint said the Neumans physically separated on Oct 3., more than a month before the shooting. Arelia Neuman is also seeking custody of their daughter and alimony.
