Warrants issued for Dorreous Brooks  accused of killing pregnant woman in Monroe

MONROE, Ga.  — Warrants have been issued for a man accused of fatally shooting a pregnant woman and her unbo child early Sunday in Monroe, authorities said.

Officers responded about 2:30 a.m. Jan. 25 to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of G.W. Carver Drive, where they found Teonia Stokes, 22, and Curdarious Williams, 25, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Stokes and her unbo child were pronounced dead at the scene, and Williams was taken to a hospital with injuries.

Police have issued warrants for Dorreous Brooks, 36, on charges that include felony murder and feticide. He is considered armed and dangerous, officials said.

A reward of $1,000 is being offered for information leading to Brooks’ arrest. Police urged anyone with information to contact Detective Mitch Studdard at 678-283-5422 or Sgt. Josh Reynolds at 770-652-0612.

Police have not released details on what led up to the shooting.
