Warrant: Atlanta mother put toddlers in oven, turned it on

- A mother charged with mudering her two young sons knowingly and intentionally caused their deaths by placing them in an oven and tuing it on, according to an arrest warrant obtained by Georgia Newsday.

According to the warrant, Lamora Williams, 24, put Ja'Karter Penn, 1, and Ke-Yaunte Penn, 2, in the oven sometime between midnight Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday.

Williams' third child, 3-year-old Jameel Penn Jr., was found unharmed.

Williams waived her first court appearance Monday and was denied bail.

The father of all three children, Jameel Penn, said Williams called him by video chat Friday night to tell him his children were dead. Penn said he called police after seeing his sons on the floor.

Williams' sister, Tabitha Hollingsworth, said Williams should be put on suicide watch in the Fulton County jail. Williams' mother also told Georgia Newsday her daughter has a long history of mental illness.

”Mora wasn’t right, she hasn’t been right and what happened three months ago, that the kids father left her, I told him something tragic is going to happen. She’s going to do something to those kids, she’s going to do something to herself, said Brenda Williams.

She believes her daughter snapped after breaking up with her children's father.
