Video Shows Fight Between Officer, Woman In Buckhead IHOP

ATLANTA -- A scuffle between an Atlanta police officer and a customer at an IHOP restaurant in Atlanta was captured on video.

The scuffle happened during the early moing hours on Easter Sunday, police said.

Channel 2’s Ryan Young has been working the story all week.

Police eventually confirmed the incident late Tuesday evening and sent Young a statement that read, ”The Atlanta Police Department is aware of the incident that took place early Sunday moing involving one of its officers attempting to arrest a patron at an IHOP in Buckhead. The matter has been referred to our Office of Professional Standards to determine whether department policies and procedures were followed. Further comment at this time would not be appropriate.

An officer is seen in the video punching a woman in the face after she struck him. The two had also exchanged words.

The video shows about a dozen people watching from a short distance.
