A Pizza Hut cook from Georgia was so excited to claim his $225,000 lottery prize that he got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend right in the middle of the Georgia Lottery headquarters.

Nolan Johnson of Douglasville was the winner of a Fantasy 5 Jackpot from April 29 that paid him $225,987. He was one of three players who matched all five winning numbers, which were 11-14-15-26-32.

Johnson, a Pizza Hut cook, said he checked his ticket at a store near his work.

”I ran out the store, up the street, jumped up and down, and hollered, ‘I won! I won!’ he said. ”I ran all the way back to work. They were happier than I was.

When he arrived to claim his money at the Georgia Lottery headquarters on Friday, he had a surprise of his own in store.

”There’s something I’ve been wanting to do, said Johnson, 43. ”Marry my girl.

He dropped to one knee in the lobby, eliciting a round of ”awwws from lottery staff. Lucky for him, she said yes.

”I would marry him if he didn’t have this money, said his new fiancée, Dana Butler. ”I love him for real. It’s real love.

Johnson won his jackpot prize with a free Quik Pik ticket he won from matching two of five winning numbers in the previous drawing.

He received his free ticket at Douglasville Food Mart, 3385 Fairbu Road, Douglasville. The other jackpot prizes for the drawing were purchased in Hartwell and Lithia Springs.
