Two suspects Stephen Herring and Amanda Young charged in shooting incident
Two people have been charged in connection with the shooting of man outside of a DFCS facility in Cartersville, Georgia.
The shooting occurred at about 2:15 p.m. and police arrived to discover that both the victim and the suspect had left the scene. The victim, identified as Alex Flores, was later found at Cartersville Medical Facility in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.
After conducting witness interviews, investigators were able to identify the suspect as Stephen Jamal Herring, and co-conspirator Amanda Nicole Young. Officers quickly arrested both suspects.
Herring is charged with several counts including aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was also charged with an outstanding warrant for an unrelated sale of marijuana case.
His conspirator, Young, was charged with false report of a crime, obstruction of justice, party to a crime and harboring a fugitive.
