DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - An officer-involved crash in DeKalb County late Saturday night left two people dead, investigators say. It happened at the intersection of Covington Highway and Kensington Road in Avondale Estates, and police say two women in their 50s were killed.

Investigators say the officer, who was on-duty at the time, was driving her patrol car when she collided with another car. The officer was not seriously hurt, but was taken to the hospital for observation.

There’s no word yet on what caused the crash.

The DeKalb County medical examiner has not yet released the names of the two victims.
